Louisiana - May 1954  Stephane Groueff went to Louisiana to enter a contest for journalists.  The assignment was to write an article about the universities in the United States.  There were hundreds of participants who signed up for this contest and it was my uncle Stephane who won first prize!  He was a great man and was credited with many achievements.  I am so very proud of him!  My uncle also liked music a lot, particularly dixieland.  One of his favorite pastimes was playing the clarinet, an instrument that he played by ear.  Some of his favorite musicians and singers were Louis “Satchmo” Armstrong and Ray Charles.  He also enjoyed listening to classical music and his favorite piece was the Piano Concerto No. 2 by Sergei Rachmaninoff.
